Haiti's Economy

I had listened one podcast:
“Business Daily: Haiti`s Economy at BBC World Service, broadcast on 12 February 2010."
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p0063zcg

I had an aim to self-assess what skills do I have to listening tasks, especially how I can understand the authentic speech. I needed to listen to podcast not once. When I recognize unknown specific words, it becomes easy to understand the clear meaning.

In broadcast which I was listened The BBC's Mike Wooldridge reports from Port au Prince and Lesley Curwen talks to economist Dambisa Moyo, author of 'Dead Aid'. Mike Wooldridge said that people are desperate to earn cash through temporary clearing-up work in Haiti a month after the earthquake, that there is not enough work to satisfy all the people who need it. Dambisa Moyo answer about whether longer term construction should be funded purely from foreign aid money, or though innovative private sector financing. She said that clearly having a situation where the balk of development financial of consumer is problematic.

Hope that after this listening I am ready to pass my English exam better than earlier.

Norway PM Jens Stoltenberg on Quick Economic Recovery

I had listened one podcast:
"Norway PM Jens Stoltenberg on quick economic recovery" at BBC news, broadcast on 25 of November 2009
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/8378564.stm

I had an aim to self-assess what skills do I have to listening tasks, especially how I can understand the authentic speech.
Well, I have to admit that I find some difficulties in listening tasks, but it was suitable "to catch" the words.

Now I want to say about Norway`s economy news that I heard.
In this interview The BBC`s Lesley Curwen spoke to Norway's Prime Minister, Jens Stoltenberg, and asked him how the economy had recovered so quickly. PM Jens Stoltenberg said: "We have been able to save money during good times and to keep the sucсessful the region economy have been that we have not spend all doily revenues, but we have save them and we are able to spend their now, when we have big trouble in ruble economy." He wants to see how Norway join to EU, but Norway have content world, where they have not only one, but two referendums concerning membershiping EU, so a Norway is democratic country.

This podcast helped me to realize how well I am ready at this moment to pass my English exam. It was difficult to understand each word, but I can say that I have to learn new words.

Norway`s Energy Wealth

I had listened one podcast :
“Business Daily: Norway`s Energy Wealth at BBC World Service, broadcast on 23 November 2009-http://search.bbc.co.uk/search?scope=all&tab=tvradio&q=Norway%27s+Energy+Wealth
I had an aim to self-assess what skills do I have to listening tasks, especially how I can understand the authentic speech. I had listened this podcast three times, because I had difficulties with understanding some phrases.
In broadcast which I was listened Norway's Prime Minister, Jens Stoltenberg, answered how does Norway balance the need to find new oil and gas fields, with the need to protect environmentally sensitive areas in the Arctic. And what he said about it? He said: “We have to find a balance between the need to development new oil and gas fields but also to protect the environment and we have don`t to restrict the environment.” Jens Stoltenberg said some words about Norway`s projects, few words about oil and gas export. The second part of the listening task was about Bolivia, about Bolivia`s relations with other countries. The President of Bolivia Evo Morales was a different relationship with other countries and three years ago he nationalized the energy industry. Should the Bolivia open the door to the world? Also some people said their opinions about free agreement Bolivia with China.
The hardest situation is when there are many annoying voices on the background, so then I need to listen for more times of the podcast. When I heard another language I can`t concentrate on translation.
It was difficult to understand each word, but I hope that I will be able in future to understand all words without difficulties.
